Rotterdam from above: the Beelen Eye

The Beelen Eye is the tallest Ferris wheel in Rotterdam: 57 metres above the river Maas, with enclosed panoramic cabins. You look out over the Erasmus Bridge, the Euromast across the river and, right below you, the Maashaven with its harbour cranes, quays and the metro bridge.

A ticket costs €10 per person, online or at PIER40, which is also where the entrance is. The Beelen Eye is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00. The wheel may close temporarily in strong wind.

Boat tours · from November 2026

Rotterdam by boat with ZUIDYARD Cruise

From November 2026, ZUIDYARD Cruise sails from Zuidyard, Doklaan 40. A boat tour takes about 75 minutes and shows you the city, the harbour and the skyline from the water. There are boats for groups of up to 30 and up to 249 people. Tickets are already on presale at zuidyardcruise.nl.

Noah’s Ark and Miniworld Rotterdam

Noah’s Ark is a museum and experience aboard the Ark of Noah: a 70-metre wooden ship with four decks, moored at Zuidyard. Allow about an hour and a half. A ticket costs €2 per person and afterwards works as a €2 voucher at PIER40. The Ark is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00, and is not wheelchair accessible.

Miniworld Rotterdam, the miniature world with Rotterdam Central Station in miniature among much else, moves to Zuidyard in 2027. Until then you visit Miniworld at Weena 745 in Rotterdam.

Spelen bij Beelen and Gigi’s Klim World

Spelen bij Beelen is the play harbour for children aged 0 to 12, with a playground with a large sandpit, Verkeersstad Harvey, a roller rink and trampolines. The sandpit, the roller rink and Verkeersstad Harvey are covered. A ticket costs €10 per person, babies up to 1 go free, with no time slots. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00; seven days a week in the school holidays.

Gigi’s Klim World is an indoor climbing park for children and adults from 130 cm, with time slots. The €25 ticket per person includes Spelen bij Beelen. Open Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00 and Saturday from 11:00 to 17:00.

Food & drink

Lunch and dinner by the water at PIER40

PIER40 is Zuidyard’s restaurant and bar, right on the river Maas and opposite Noah’s Ark, for coffee, lunch, drinks and dinner. PIER40 is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 20:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 to 20:00.

New in Rotterdam in 2026 and 2027

More is on its way at Zuidyard. Frenky World, an indoor play world above the Spelen bij Beelen sandpit, is expected to open in mid-October 2026. In November 2026 DOKSIDE, the venue for business events by the water, opens and ZUIDYARD Cruise starts sailing. In March 2027 R’DAM LOOKOUT opens, a swing on the eighth floor with views over Rotterdam and the harbour; a ticket costs €10 per person. And in 2027 Miniworld Rotterdam moves to Zuidyard.
