Zuidyard sits right on the Maashaven in Rotterdam-Zuid: you arrive by water taxi, eat at PIER40 by the water, look out over the river Maas and the harbour from the Beelen Eye and board Noah’s Ark. From November 2026, ZUIDYARD Cruise also sails from the site.

Rotterdam is a port city, and at Zuidyard you notice it all day. The site is on the Doklaan, on the Maashaven, with the water all around you. Below you can read what you can do on and by the water here: today, and from November 2026.

Arriving by water

By water taxi to Zuidyard

If you are looking for a day out by the water, you can arrive by water too. The water taxi takes you right up to the Zuidyard site, and from the quay you walk straight onto the grounds. Your day starts on the river Maas before you have seen a single attraction.

Prefer to come by land? Maashaven metro station is nearby, and by bike or car you arrive via the Doklaan. There is plenty of parking on our own grounds: €4 per hour or €22 per day, and the first 15 minutes are free.

Food & drink by the water

PIER40: a table by the water

PIER40 is in the middle of Zuidyard, right on the water and opposite Noah’s Ark. It is a restaurant and bar in one: drop in for coffee or lunch, stay on for drinks or make an evening of it with dinner. On the terrace you sit outside on the Maashaven.

PIER40 is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 20:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 to 20:00. To book a table, email info@pier40.nl. PIER40 is also where you buy your Beelen Eye ticket on site, because the entrance to the wheel is there.

The Beelen Eye: above the Maas and the harbour

The Beelen Eye takes you 57 metres up above the Maashaven. From the enclosed panoramic cabins you see how the city sits on the water: the river Maas and its bridges, the Erasmus Bridge, the Euromast across the river and, right below you, the Maashaven with its harbour cranes, quays and the metro bridge.

A ticket costs €10 per person. The wheel is suitable for all ages and accessible for people with disabilities. The Beelen Eye may close temporarily in strong wind; a notice appears at the top of beeleneye.nl.

A ship at the quay

Noah’s Ark: aboard a wooden ship

Noah’s Ark is moored at Zuidyard: a 70-metre wooden ship with four decks. On board you walk through the story of Noah and the animals; children join in with a treasure hunt and an information folder. Allow about an hour and a half.

A ticket costs €2 per person and afterwards works as a €2 voucher at PIER40, just opposite. The Ark is not wheelchair accessible.

On the water · from November 2026

ZUIDYARD Cruise: sailing from Zuidyard

From November 2026 you can also head out onto the water from Zuidyard. ZUIDYARD Cruise departs from Zuidyard at Doklaan 40 for a boat tour of about 75 minutes past the city, the harbour and the skyline. Tickets are already on presale; prices and departure times are in the ticket shop at zuidyardcruise.nl.

Business · from November 2026

DOKSIDE: business events by the water

For companies, DOKSIDE opens in November 2026: the place at Zuidyard for business events on and by the water. From meetings, presentations or business dinners to conferences or company parties, DOKSIDE can be booked from November 2026. Guests can be picked up elsewhere in Rotterdam and brought to Zuidyard by boat, so the event already starts on the water. Send requests to info@zuidyard.com.

A day out in Rotterdam-Zuid

Zuidyard is also a day out close to home for anyone living in Rotterdam-Zuid. On the same site you find Spelen bij Beelen for children aged 0 to 12 and the Gigi’s Klim World indoor climbing park from 130 cm. In March 2027 R’DAM LOOKOUT opens: a swing on the eighth floor with views over Rotterdam and the harbour.
